We've listened to feedback, streamlined the classes, and made the 2015 Basic Training: Strengthening Your Administrative Core, even better.


This is a series of 5 classes covering a range of administrative topics that are key to successfully mounting theater productions, either as one-time events or as part of the establishment and running of a company.

Who should take Basic Training?

* Theater artists interested in producing their own work
* Fringe companies who want to build the capacity of their organizations
* Professionals who want to brush up on their skills
* Early career theater makers who are looking a different career paths


By the end of these 5 classes, you will have the tools to build a business or project plan for your production and production company. You will also meet and network with other members of the community.


Curriculum:


The course consists of five workshops, led by professionals who are experienced and knowledgeable in various facets of arts administration.

Feb 9- Marketing with Janet Bailey
How do you get butts in seats? What goes into a marketing plan?


February 23-Development / Fundraising with Sara Stackhouse
Raising money is part of the job. What are the different paths you can take? What should you know before you start?


March 9 - Legal Issues with Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts
What should you know about rights, copyrights, contracts?


March 23 - Space with Anita Lauricella, Darren Evans, and Scratch
How should you decide where to do your work? What should you factor into your decision?


April 6 - Budgeting with Anita Lauricella
What goes into a pre-production budget? A production budget? What should you keep in mind while budgeting?


Prices are $100 (members) $200 (non-members) for all 5
OR $25 (members) $40 (non-members) for individual sessions.
