The StageSource Theater Conference biennially convenes hundreds of actors, directors, designers, playwrights, production and administrative personnel and theater enthusiasts from the region to consider issues facing Boston area theater, explore opportunities and confront challenges, and celebrate theater. With a keynote by Arts & Culture Chief of Boston, Julie Burros, and workshop tracks for all kinds of theater artists, this conference will explore the question:
Who are we?:
How do we tell our stories differently?

Who Are We?
StageSource was founded almost 30 years ago, and as we near that anniversary, it is time to take a moment and consider, as a community, “Who Are We?” Who, or what, is the New England theater community? Who are we as artists? Who are we as individuals? What are our core values? What is our path moving forward? The StageSource Theater Conference will tackle these conversations at the conference, giving us an opportunity to have community wide impact, while also recognizing the role of the individual in the community. Who Are We? Let’s talk about that, together.
Conference: What to Expect
The day will start with a Keynote Speech by Julie Burros, our new chief of Arts & Culture in Boston, followed by a panel discussion surrounding the new initiatives in the Boston and New England Theater sector and the opportunity to discuss the way we, as StageSource, tell the StageSource story through the lens of the theater community ("Telling the StageSource Story" with David Dalena). We'll have lunch-time break-out sessions and discussions to accompany your box lunch (which you can purchase in advance from StageSource). The afternoon is where things really get hopping and this is where you'll choose your Workshop Track. You can choose from 4 pre-grouped workshop tracks geared toward different groups of people (Actors, Playwrights, Theater Organizations, Theater Enthusiasts), or choose workshops ala carte! The conference will end with a reception and kick-off party for StageSource's 30th Birthday!
Come celebrate StageSource with our whole community!
