The Mass Cultural Council's UP Inclusive Design Initiative invites Artists working at the intersection of Theater and Disability to join a discussion on "The Promise of Theatre".

To develop the skills of the Theater Artist; whether onstage or backstage; whether as a professional, a student, or a dabbler; whether performing, designing, or writing; how do the Performing Arts embrace our variety and intentionally anticipate and reasonably accommodate across physical, communication, and/or social differences?

What are the pathways for emerging artists? Where are the apprenticeships? Do the colleges and universities have the infrastructure, the spaces, and the human resources to support recruitment and accommodation of students with disabilities? Who takes stage?

Actors, designers, directors, poets, playwrights, choreographers, musicians, technicians, teachers; please join us to share your own experiences; what works, what doesn't, what could be better- as we consider the state of accessible theatre arts in the Commonwealth and the development of the Accessible Performance Pipeline. Wednesday July 12 at the Fitzpatrick Mainstage of the Berkshire Theatre Group, 83 East Main Street, Stockbridge MA, 11am - 1pm. A light lunch will be provided.
