CAMBRIDGE, MA– ImprovBoston announces its February schedule. All shows take place at ImprovBoston, 40 Prospect Street, Cambridge, MA. The Schedule for the month is below. Ticket prices are with each show. More information on ImprovBoston is available at http://improvboston.com

Each month ImprovBoston presents a brand new comedy show comprised of three sets. You can expect to see everything from sketch to improv, and even stand-up comedy. This week’s lab features Upper West, Chris Pennie, and Hidden Falls.

Every Thursday night our resident ImprovBoston Harold teams perform Harold, THE classic long form improv format, with occasional special guests. This week’s show opens with BYOI, and is hosted by Improv Jones with special guest Seriously Bent (Suffolk).

A new challenger takes on the champion every week at CageMatch. Each team gets 22 minutes performing head-to-head longform improv, no games but the game of the scene. And the audience decides the winner. The champ comes back to defend the title; the loser stays home. Started in Boston by Mike McDonald and produced for ImprovBoston by young bucks Luke Bruneaux and Conor Allen, CageMatch promises to be an improv show you DO NOT WANT TO MISS!

FEATURED SHOWCASE: MY DARK LOVE: AN IMPROVISED TEENAGE GOTHIC ROMANCE

My Dark Love explores the absurd and perverse world of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight Saga. My Dark Love is an incredibly successful and popular product of The Comedy Lab, chosen to be showcased even before its Lab run was over. Every week the cast presents the entire saga, from Bella and Edward’s meeting to the bizarre monster/human hybrid that is their off-spring. Only, each night the audience gets to help guide the plot. The Jacob and Edward characters are assigned random monsters each week. An audience member spins a wheel of fate to help pick the monster. In the past, Jacob and Edward have been ghosts, devils, Frankensteins, Cyclopes, and Easter Bunnies.

Best of all, children who want to participate have opportunities to be on stage and take part in the fun! Our show is ideal for family outings, birthday parties, and school field trips! Best for children ages 4 and above, but appropriate for ALL ages and an absolute favorite for teens, though they refuse to admit it at first, you know, just like a teenager.

Now most audiences have seen Whose Line, you know, the show with Drew Carey on ABC Family, and maybe some of you have seen that show Nick Cannon did for MTV. Well, Boston, Face Off kicks it up a notch with a latenight show (not appropriate for the whole family) and they guarantee to make you part of the action. You provide the suggestions; Face Off performs; you laugh; you vote for the Team you prefer. REPEAT! Teams of improv comedians literally face off against each other for your laughs and approval.

Built upon the success of Beanpots past, this year’s tournament has exploded into a College Comedy Festival. The 2012 College Comedy Festival is a showcase of the highest quality college comedy in New England. This years teams are Committee For Creative Enactments (Boston College), Guerilla Improv (Worcester Polytechnic Institute), Improv on the Rocks (Western New England University), Liquid Fun (Boston University), Middlebrow (Middlebury College), NU & Improv’d (Northeastern University), On the Spot Improv (Fairfield University), Seriously Bent (Suffolk University), Shenanigans! The Jam combines three acts. The first two acts change weekly, and feature comedy from Boston and beyond, encore performances of our showcase shows, and Boston's elite comedy talent experimenting with new improv formats, characters and standup. For the 3rd act, audience members, guests and ImprovBoston cast come together for an open comedy jam! This week’s jam features In Locum Tenes, Greg Kestin, Mike Gee, Jenny Z, and Kate Ghiloni.
