Sara Brookner

Sara is a StageSource Board Member and Arts Administrator in Boston.

"I first became involved [with StageSource] while in grad school at the ART Institute for dramaturgy. My first job was at ArtsEmerson, and I've worked on shows with Whistler in the Dark, Boston Public Works, and Fresh Ink. I regularly attend shows by the ART, ArtsEmerson, Company One, the Huntington, Central Square, New Rep, Fresh Ink, and many more! [StageSource has impacted me] so greatly! I feel more connected to the larger community, have gone to see more things that I might not have otherwise, and it has made me more aware of the larger issues facing the theater community. It's also connected me with more work opportunities."

Naomi Ibasitas

Naomi was a StageSource intern for two semester and now volunteers regularly with us.

Mal Malme

Mal has been a StageSource member for 16 years and is currently a StageSource Board Member. Here is Mal’s short testimonial on her experience in the New England Theater Community:

“My professional theater career began in Boston in the early 1990's. I am co-founder of Queer Soup Theater, a small theater company that develops original works that have all premiered in Boston. We tour and facilitate workshops, all with a social justice, community building mission. I also work as an actor with other Boston theater companies, such as Boston Playwrights' Theatre. In terms of achievements, I was named one of Boston's Gender Heros in 2009 by The Theater Offensive. Queer Soup has developed several works that have toured, one such performance, of our work HOME, about the intersection of faith, family, and gender identity, took place at Waltham House, a shelter for lgbtq youth. We performed in the living room, and it was magical and intense and amazing. As an actor, in 2013, I had the incredible privilege of playing Cy Burns in Ginger Lazarus's play Burning at the BPT. It was one of most challenging, rewarding, and life changing theater experiences I've had.”
