“StageSource to me means access to everything – to actors, to designers, to space, to scripts, and really to the entire theater community. Everything goes through StageSource.” – StageSource member
Since 1985, StageSource has provided leadership and services to advance the art of theater in the Greater Boston and New England regions. Originally founded as an arts service organization for actors, StageSource now represents theater makers and organizations of every kind. Our 1800 members include designers, directors, playwrights, technicians and administrators. Our 220 organizational members include community theaters, collegiate theaters, theaters that present touring companies, non-profit organizations of every size, independent producers, and several commercial companies as well as related organizations.
With the help of StageSource, theater makers find collaborators, jobs, information about their community and forums to discuss important issues. Our training programs help artists new to the profession or the area navigate the industry, and help established and midlife professionals develop new skills. Our weekly e-news, annual auditions, and job fair are the primary source for theater employment information locally. Our online database is a major listing of local talent used by theater companies, casting agencies and other job providers. In addition, StageSource offers its members access to other helpful services such as our script library and discounted health insurance.
