BRA Artist Certification schedule
The next deadlines for artist certification are January 31, 2006 and March 6, 2006. Guidelines and application are available for download at www.cityofboston.gov/bra/econdev/econdev.asp#13 or by calling Heidi Burbidge, (617) 918-4306.
Some people receiving this email applied for BRA Artist Certification sometime in the past and were not certified. If you are one of those people, please feel free to call and chat if you are interested in applying again. Common reasons for not being certified include too few work samples, work samples not showing a broad range of work, no evidence of public presentation of some part of the body of work, no dates, or no information that would appear on an artist's resume. Many people reapply with additional work or better presentation of their existing work and are then certified. We also occasionally get applications from people whose discipline is not included in the scope of this program, who we may be able to refer to other resources.
Future opportunities
Artist Live/Work Units are now in pre-development in Mission Hill, Hyde Park, and as well as other neighborhoods. See future emails (subject: Update to Artists) for more information about purchase and rental opportunities.
