WHO HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE IN GREATER BOSTON THEATRE?

(Boston, MA) – Do you know an individual who has made a difference to Greater Boston theatre? Can you name an organization that has proven to be a leader over the years? Who do you think of as a hero to Greater Boston theatre? StageSource encourages you to submit a nomination for the 2008 Theatre Hero Award to be named later this year.

Nominees should be exceptional members of the Greater Boston theatre community who have demonstrated a history of service and commitment to the community through leadership, support, inspiration, innovation and promotion of the art of theatre throughout our region – in short a Theatre Hero.Theatre Hero Kate Snodgrass (2001) with actor Bob Murphy

Past recipients include Jack Welch, Kate Snodgrass, Wheelock Family Theatre, Spiro Veloudos, Jacqui Parker, Scott Edmiston, Susan Gassett and Jim Spruill.  StageSource is once again seeking input from the community in picking this year’s nominees.  Be a part of this important event for the year 2008!Theatre Hero Jack Welch (2000) with Sarah deLima

Speaking about the award’s significance, first Hero Award recipient Jack Welch had this to say, “To honor one another and to be honored is a gift. With the Theatre Hero Award we offer a chance to acknowledge an individual who is committed to a greater vision and the on-going stability for the Boston theatre community.”

Theatre Hero Susan Gassett (2006)To submit a nomination for the 2008 Theatre Hero Award, complete the following information:
- Name of Nominee
- Brief description of nominee’s accomplishments (one page maximum)
- Please include the following information in your nomination
Nominees should be exceptional members of the Greater Boston theatre community who have demonstrated
o       A HISTORY OF SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY
o       Leadership
o       Support
o       Inspiration
o       Innovation
o       Promotion of the art of theatre throughout our region
- Include your name as nominator submitting nomination, and your phone number or email address for contact, in case we need to contact you.
- Self-nominations are also welcome
- Incomplete nominations will be returned to nominator and not eligible for consideration.
