SPEAKEASY ADDS THE WOMEN TO 06-07 SEASON

SpeakEasy Stage Company Producing Artistic Director Paul Daigneault has announced that the Clare Boothe Luce classic comedy "THE WOMEN" will take up the remaining slot on his 06-07 roster.

The show will open SpeakEasy's 06-07 season, running for five weeks, from Sept. 22 thru Oct. 21, 2006, in the Roberts Studio Theatre in the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.  Norton Award-winning director Scott Edmiston ("FIVE BY TENN") will direct an as yet unnamed all-star roster of Boston actresses.  The play, originally written in 1937, concerns infidelity and in-fighting among a group of high-society Manhattan women.

To make room for "THE WOMEN," Daigneault has moved the company's New England premiere production of the Neil LaBute drama "FAT PIG" to its March slot.

Thus the official SpeakEasy 06-07 schedule is as follows:

THE WOMEN - Sept. 22 - Oct. 21, 2006

THE BUBBLY BLACK GIRLS SHEDS HER CHAMELEON SKIN - Nov. 16 - Dec. 9, 2006

ALMOST, MAINE - Feb. 16 - March 10, 2007

FAT PIG - March 16 - April 7, 2007

PARADE - May 11- June 16, 2007
