BOSTON THEATER MARATHON 2008

Boston Playwrights' Theatre presents
The Tenth Annual Boston Theater Marathon
a one-day ten-hour charity event
featuring fifty-one New England playwrights
produced by fifty New England theatre companies

WHEN: May 11, 2008 from Noon to 10 pm
WHERE: Stanford Calderwood Pavilion, 527 Tremont St., Boston
WHY: To celebrate New England playwrights and raise funds for the Theatre Community Benevolent Fund.  
TICKETS:  $25 in advance / $30 at the door
PRESS TICKETS: Members of the press and all volunteers can receive the pre-sale rate on the day of the show.  As in past years, press tickets are not free due to the large number of volunteers and charitable goals of the event.  
 
The Boston Theater Marathon will take place on Sunday, May 11, from 12 noon until 10 p.m. at the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA, 527 Tremont St., Boston.

The Boston Theater Marathon has it all, from ART to Zeitgeist Stage. Under the organization of Boston Playwrights' Theatre, the BTM is a theatrical smorgasbord where fifty New England theatre companies combine forces with fifty-one New England playwrights and over a hundred actors and directors.  Fifty ten-minute plays are performed in ten non-stop hours on May 11, 2008, at the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion in Boston's South End.  Come see  the theatre community come together for this special charity event to raise funds for the Theatre Community Benevolent Fund.  

Kate Snodgrass, co-founder and artistic director of the Boston Theater Marathon, says this of the 10th anniversary year: "When we created the Marathon ten short years ago, we wanted to connect playwrights with producers.  I had no idea it would become one of the benchmarks of Boston's theatre calendar. This year we're not just celebrating the playwrights -- we're celebrating the little festival that could."
