HEALTH CARE RESOURCES

By December 31, 2007, ALL Massachusetts residents have been REQUIRED to have health insurance or face penalties.

Ask yourself these questions:

- Do you pay high premiums on your health insurance?
- Are you able to choose your health insurance carrier?
- Do you have access to Dental Insurance?

Health and dental plan options are available for freelance and self-employed theatre artists, and for theatre companies and their employees through StageSource and Health Services Administrators. Consider shopping around and possibly getting lower monthly premiums through the StageSource association plans with Health Services Administrators.

Health Insurance carriers include:

  • Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare
  • Tufts Health Plan
  • Fallon Community Health Plan
  • Neighborhood Health Plan
  • Health New England
  • United Health Care

Dental plans include

  • Delta Dental
  • Assurant
  • Altus Dental.

Within each of these carriers there are multiple plans from which to choose, ranging from a premium plan to the basic.  Download the StageSource Health Insurance Fact Sheet for more information.  Please call StageSource for details at 617.720.6066.

ALSO, save money by getting someone else to pay for your health insurance! If you are not aware, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has a program that helps small businesses and self-employed individuals pay for company-sponsored health insurance. If you have 50 or fewer full-time employees or are self-employed, you may be eligible for monthly assistance. For more information on The Insurance Partnership, visit www.4ip.org, or call (800) 399-8285.

Plus, some residents, based on their income level, may qualify for the current Commonwealth Care Health Insurance Program, the plan provided by state healthcare reform law. Click here for information.
