Because of the often unexpected nature of emergencies, applicants may begin the application process when occurrences happen.  Applicants are asked to submit an Intent to Apply Form within thirty (30) calendar days of the occurrence.

A review panel comprising the Board of Directors of TCBF and Executive Director of StageSource assesses all applications.  The review panel will convene as needed to determine the viability of the request.  The applicant will be notified if the request is considered appropriate or not.  If appropriate, the applicant will be asked to submit a full application within forty-five (45) calendar days of notification.  Individuals would be asked to submit an Individual Application and companies would be asked to submit an Organizational Application. The review panel will convene to assess the full application, and applicants will be notified of the results in writing. Grants are disbursed within thirty days of an award determination.

StageSource and TCBF reserve the right to refuse service or refuse to continue service to any applicant at any time during the application process.

Funds
TCBF is funded through the Boston Theater Marathon produced by the Boston Playwrights' Theatre, benefit events, TCBF nights at StageSource member theaters, individuals, and foundations.

How to contribute
