Great art requires honesty, challenge, and pushing ourselves to discover the truth. Those qualities are exactly what StageSource is bringing to LINE DRAWN, an initiative to prevent sexual abuse in performing arts. The Line Drawn Summit event will give you practical information about abuse prevention policies and procedures as well as the opportunity to be part of creating a vision for standards and ethics for the New England performing arts community.

The goal of this day-long convening is to examine existing Best Practices, data collected from our ongoing survey, and a myriad of other resources to iron out a Community-Wide Code of Ethics (for organizations and individuals) as well as standardized policies such as:
-Language for Board Policies on harassment
-Language for contracts and employee handbooks
-"First Day/First Rehearsal" language for organizations to present
-Suggestions for clear paths for reporting

While these components are only one piece of a larger puzzle, they are an important step which we want to help implement by the start of the 2018-19 season. We understand that policies alone are not the silver bullet, so the day will also include sessions which will inform the development of future training programs which will more deeply engage with the community at large.

Attendees must RSVP so that we can email you materials to examine before June 16th. Accurate head count is also needed to ensure that we have enough food for lunch, which will be provided free of charge.

For organizational representatives: whether or not you are able to attend, we would also ask that, if you are willing and able, you share with me any policies, procedures, documents, etc. you currently have in place at your organization. Part of our goal is to examine what is already out there and incorporate what is working well so far. We'll include this information in a packet to all participants ahead of the 16th so that we can collectively consider and discuss them as a group.

Thank you for working with StageSource on this initiative. We're grateful for your help as we're moving this forward.
