Gender Explosion Forum

A moderated panel discussion on ways to foster gender diversity in the New England Theater Community. The StageSource Gender Explosion Initiative seeks to increase representation of Trans and Non-Binary theater folks both on stage and behind the scenes. It may feel like a big task, and we all may have some rewiring to do, but we invite you to join us for a discussion about simple changes we can make right now to be more inclusive of Trans and Non-Binary theater artists. ADMISSION IS FREE.

The Gender Explosion Forum is a moderated panel discussion on ways to foster gender diversity in the New England Theater Community. The Forum is FREE and open to the public!

Panelists represent theater companies that are leaders in this work, including:

Mark Lunsford, Artistic Producer - American Repertory Theater
Sarah Shampnois, Managing Director - Company One
Lelaina Vogel, Co-Director - The Underlings Theatre Co.

The discussion will be moderated by actor/writer/activist MARGE.

As the world moves rapidly forward, the film and television industries are adapting accordingly while New England theater remains an overwhelmingly cisgender experience, offering limited opportunities for the Transgender and Non-Binary members of our community.

The StageSource Gender Explosion Initiative seeks to create space for gender diverse theater.

Join us for a discussion about some simple changes we can make right now to tackle this topic and make our community more inclusive, both onstage and behind the scenes. Learn how together we can enact change and be leaders on this important topic within the New England Theater Community.
