There have been a lot of fresh faces in the New England Theater Community over the last five years, from new Executive Directors, Artistic Directors, Theater Companies, and Directors of Institutions. It seems about time that we celebrate new artistic perspectives and the growth of our sector!

Jamie Gahlon (she/her/hers) is the Director and a co-founder of HowlRound Theatre Commons, a free and open platform for theatremakers worldwide that amplifies progressive, disruptive ideas about the art form and facilitates connection between diverse practitioners. Prior to this work, Jamie helped launch the American Voices New Play Institute at Arena Stage, where she worked for six years. Jamie has also worked with New York Stage & Film, and the New Victory Theatre. She is a Think Tank Member for the Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics. Jamie holds a B.S. in Culture & Politics from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, and will begin graduate study in Performance Curation at the Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance at Wesleyan University this summer.
Jarvis Green is the Founding Producing Artistic Director of JAG Productions and the former Director of Theatre Arts at ArtisTree Community Arts Center in South Pomfret, VT. He is a director, performing artist, and cultural worker from Anderson, SC. He moved to Vermont in 2011 from New York City & founded BarnArts Center for the Arts in Barnard, VT in 2012. Jarvis received his training at the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City, as well as South Carolina’s Anderson University and Governor’s School for the Arts. Jarvis has developed work with: The Public Theatre, Cherry Lane Theatre, Village Theatre, 5th Avenue Theatre, Intiman Theatre, Capital Playhouse, BarnArts Center for the Arts, ArtisTree, Northern Stage and NCCT. In 2017, Jarvis accepted the New England Theatre Conference's (NETC) Regional Award for Outstanding Achievement in the American Theatre on behalf of JAG Productions -- in recognition of sustaining theatrical excellence.
