David E. Shane has been a member of the professional theater community for over ten years, first as an actor then as a director and arts administrator. He comes to Boston from Upstate New York where he spent over four years as the Associate Artistic Director of the Bristol Valley Theater. During his tenure, he lead the company's marketing and development efforts and oversaw the funding and launch of the BVT New Works Initiative.
In 2012 he co-founded Footlights Entertainment, a New York City based company specializing in live music for parties and events. In NYC, he also served an arts educator and manager for Applause Theatrical Productions. Among his directing credits are numerous World Premieres including the Off-Broadway production of "Mare in the Men's Room" by David L. Kimple.
David is a frequent guest artist at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell where he has worked with faculty and students to both commission playwrights and devise original work.
