Lyndsay Allyn Cox (She/Her/Hers) is an actor, educator, artist, and now the new Director of Theatre at Boston Center for the Arts.
Lyndsay’s work is focused on creating space and opportunities for dynamic and challenging storytelling through the performing and visual arts, establishing an artistic pipeline for artists of color and weaving Montessori principles into the fabric at arts education.
Lyndsay has recently appeared in “With Glittering Eyes”, Hibernian Hall; “The Leftovers”, Company One; “Barbeque”, Lyric Stage Company and “Men on Boats”, SpeakEasy Stage and is now a proud member of Actors Equity Association.
As an educator she makes the connection between a student centered approach to teaching and learning and arts education creating learning environments where students are empowered to express themselves freely and to use art as a tool for social change.
As a queer, Jewish, woman of color, she uses all art forms, to combat racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, ageism, xenophobia, antisemitism, and any other -isms or phobias that need to be brought down. She surrounds herself with other artists, activists, and makers who are ready to stand up and fight back.
This February she's developing a dope AF Black History Month event in the Mills Gallery. Check her out in “With Glittering Eyes” now at Hibernian Hall through October 28 or catch her in December in "Winter People" by Laura Neil at Boston Playwrights' Theatre.
