Jen Alison LewisJen (she/her/hers) works to connect and challenge our world with honest, playful theatre. A freelance actor, director, teacher, coach, playwright, and mom, she currently teaches Acting at Bunker Hill Community College. She earned a Master's degree in Theatre Education/Theatre and Community from Emerson College and a BFA in Acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, and has attended Shakespeare and Company's Month-long Intensive twice, as both a participant and teacher-trainee.

Recently, Jen just finished her time as StageSource's Interim Program Director.  She dove in on short notice and was a wizard at getting the Annual Auditions up and running!  She saved our butts and we truly could not have done it without her.

Jen has performed historic plays about social justice issues as a company member of Theatre Espresso, directed at Beaver Country Day Upper School, the Winsor School, and both Newton North and South High Schools, and taught theatre at Wheelock Family Theatre and in several public schools. Favorite theatre roles include Rosalind in As You Like It which she produced as Merely Players; Hermia in Midsummer Night's Dream, Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing (It's a Fiasco); Legally Dead (BPT); Kate in Taming of the Shrew; Living Out (Lyric Stage); and The Friends of Eddie Coyle (Stickball).

Jen was a Board Member of GAN-e-meed Theatre Project and Director of their Career Labs, a series of speakers and workshops which she founded, designed to advance the role women in theatre. Her voice-over work includes thirteen years of online corporate trainings for SAI Global (formerly Integrity Interactive) as well as many other commercial and corporate clients. A member of SAG-AFTRA, she has been active in on-camera and voice-over work in Boston for over a decade with many principal roles in commercials and countless corporate video jobs.

Personally, Jen lives in Medford, MA with her husband and two children. Leisure activities include travel, hiking, reading, running, rock climbing, mosaics, community activism, and lots of good night hugs. She grew up in Philadelphia, PA and is a proud graduate of Philadelphia High School for Girls (summa cum laude, National Merit Scholar) and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts (BFA, Honors), where she studied at Circle in the Square and the Classical Studio. She also attended University College Cork (Ireland) where she studied Celtic Studies and mangled Gaelic. She lived in Redwood City, California for two years before settling in the Boston area, where she has lived since 1999. She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and StageSource.
