Gigi Watson (she/her/hers) is an actor, singer, teacher, and enthusiastic theatre maker in the Boston community. She received her BFA in Musical Theatre from Emerson College, and has also trained in various capacities with SITI Company, Shakespeare & Company, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, CAP21, and the University of the Arts. Gigi has worked with many Boston area theatre companies, including ArtsEmerson, Huntington Theatre Company, SpeakEasy Stage, Wheelock Family Theater, Greater Boston Stage Company, Brown Box Theatre Project, Boston Playwrights Theatre, Israeli Stage, Company One, and Commonwealth Shakespeare Company. She has appeared in numerous commercials and corporate videos, and works with clients regularly as a voiceover artist. Gigi gratefully teaches acting and audition prep with My College Audition, and is passionate about encouraging a sense of empowerment, agency, and humor in students as they board the wild and fantastic ride of a career in the arts.
Her nominator (and past Member of the Week), Alex Lonati, noted "her phenomenal talent and, more importantly, her unbelievably collaborative attitude."
An ardent supporter of new play development and devised theatre, Gigi has had the privilege of collaborating with many local artists in creating new work. Next season, one of these labors of love will come to fruition with the world premiere of Mox Nox by Patrick Gabridge, produced by Brown Box Theatre Project. Gigi recently appeared in Small Mouth Sounds at SpeakEasy Stage, for which she and the cast received an Elliot Norton Award nomination for Best Ensemble. You can see her suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune in the titular role of Hamlet at Gloucester Stage this coming fall.
Outside of theatre, her second love is practicing and teaching yoga. Gigi lives in scenic Somerville, Massachusetts with her groovy partner, her beloved tiny espresso machine, and her ornery vacuum robot.
