Rachel Belleman (she/her) is a New York and Boston-based actor, educational facilitator, and podcaster with a focus on developing new works, reimagining classics, and defying body-type casting.
She has worked with numerous theaters in the Greater Boston Area, including Lyric Stage Company and Actors' Shakespeare Project on their recent collaboration of Twelfth Night
. Off Stage, she can be heard on various podcasts like WBUR's Circle Round
and The Ordinary Epic
, a Dungeons a Dragons audio drama by New England based playwright, Brandon Crose. This past Summer, Rachel also began working with Scholastic in their Educational Outreach program in New York as part of a team to bring children's books from page to stage.
Emily Edström, her nomiator believes Rachel deserves the accolade of Member of the Week because she "is a powerhouse performer who has been featured in fringe as well as large theater performances. As kind as she is talented, Rachel is whip smart and is showing that being a female actor in 2019 means bringing grit, feminism, nuance, and heart to theater creation."
This Holiday season, you can find Rachel back at Actors' Shakespeare Project in The Complete Works of WIlliam Shakespeare (Abridged)
, a summary of all Shakespeare's plays including the shortest production of Hamlet in existence at only 43 seconds: December 20 - January 12th.
