Libby Schap (she/her/hers) is a local puppeteer, actor, writer, and producer, who has traveled throughout the U.S. for theater and film. Her work focuses on the role of arts in discovering identity and strengthening community.
Recently, Schap has toured schools and community programs with The Kids on the Block, an educational puppet troupe, building awareness for disabilities and bully prevention. In addition, she teaches drama to elementary school-aged students in the Metrowest area.
Her original production of Flying Lessons, a shadow puppet show, was awarded the Jim Henson Foundation Workshop (2018) and Production (2019) Grant and is currently touring throughout the country.
In February, Schap's latest work, a devised theatrical production about Benedict Arnold's wife, will be presented as part of the Resident Artist Program at Chelsea Theatre Works. Peggy & the Mad Scenes runs February 21-29 (follow on Facebook @peggyandthemadscenes).
